last year if we should consider giving him any chemical dewormers, and

Terminals often
discolor due to the heat of soldering the wires to them, as well as
during use.  This really doesn’t matter because so long as your
BZapr’s
LED flashes, it’s working.  Terminals are easily cleaned with a bit of
metal polish & a cotton swab, if discoloration from use annoys you. 
If discoloration occurs when you use a BZapr, it indicates
‘something healing’ is occurring with
use. 
Discoloration from the heat of soldering is essentially impossible to
remove; it is due to local changes in the alloy of the pennies which
have no effect on the effectiveness of Indian Maid’s
zappers

Do not wire brush, sand or use abrasive cleaners on the terminals; this voids the warrantee.
