    Can only be used as a tone pot hence the name no load. The pot lifts ground when turned wide open to the detent and disappears from the circuit leaving the pickup signal passing straight to the pot without the load of the tone pot. Many of the new Charvels use this pot configuration from the factory.
    In 1997 the 1st guitars with tone controls used by EVH were being produced by Peavey. During this time EVH wanted a way to run the bridge pick up wide open, or with no load and this was the solution. This is a direct fit just replace the pot with this one and all the magic happens inside.
    No-Load Linear Taper Guitar Tone Pot. Works like a standard 500K tone pot from 1-9 but disconnects the load at the full clockwise setting (10). This eliminates the path to ground that exists with standard pots in the full setting. The result is increased power and brightness at the “full treble” setting. Bottom of pot has vintage style shaft guide (see photo). Note: No Load pots are designed to expand the range of the tone control and can not be used as standard volume controls.
